It´s that time of year again… looking back on our favourite photos from the past year, and 2017 was a year to remember. In 2016 we took the year off and drove across Europe for 6 months, which was one heck of an adventure and the most incredible experience… so 2017 was the “re-entry” into the real world. 2017 was also the beginning of a lifelong team project… right in the middle of the crazy summer season we found out that we´re expecting a baby girl, she will be with us in a few short months and life will never be the same again… so 2018 is also going to be an adventure, of a different kind.
We´ve been shooting weddings for a while now, and these “best of” collections are always a good way for us to really consider why we do this, what are we looking for, how do we want to portray a wedding day? More and more, we lean in the direction of quirk and humour… because a wedding is a uniquely human event, full of emotion, random moments and drunk uncles.
It´s a no-brainer that weddings are romantic and that the bride is going to be drop-dead gorgeous and that the couple are going to look deeply into each others eyes… but a wedding is also SO MUCH more than this, which is what we try to portray in our photos. Our favourite images are inevitable those random in-between moments and those that convey love (obvs) and emotion and humour… and beautiful light, if we can get it 😉
