Jessica & Romeu | Engagement

Jessica and Romeu’s story is another one about love that spans the oceans… she’s from the U.S. and he’s from Portugal, they met many years ago while she was here on holiday, visiting family… they had a summer romance and then she had to go back home… but that’s not where this story ends. While she was at college, Jessica was unable to take holidays in Portugal as frequently and it was almost 4 years later that she returned to Portugal, hoping to see Romeu again but not having any idea if she would, or if he had a girlfriend, or if he even remembered their summer fling… Her visit was almost over and she thought she would be returning to the States without seeing him again and then one evening he showed up at her doorstep and everything fell right into place, as if she had never been gone. Because they were both studying at the time it had to be a long distance relationship, only seeing each other  a few months each year, during the summers until one Valentines Day a few years ago when Romeu surprised her and turned up at her door once again, this time in Miami, where she was living. And the rest, as they say, is history… since then they have been inseparable and are currently planning their wedding which will be here in Portugal next summer. We spent a beautiful afternoon with them wandering the streets of downtown Lisbon, which lucky for them (and us) is one of the most gorgeous cities in the world…

A história da Jessica e do Romeu é outra das histórias que atravessou o oceano… ela  americana ele português, conheceram-se há vários anos atrás numas férias de verão aqui em Portugal numa visita da Jessica a familiares. Foi um romance de verão que acaba sempre com a despedida triste do regresso a casa… esperem que ainda não acabou, esta não é das histórias de final triste. Enquanto estava na universidade, a Jessica não podia vir de visita a Portugal tão frequentemente, passaram quase quatro anos até ela voltar, na esperança de rever o Romeu, não tendo qualquer ideia se o seu desejo se iria realizar. As férias estavam quase a acabar, e a Jessica aos poucos ia sentindo a frustração de voltar a casa sem ver o seu Romeu novamente. E então numa  noite, já em clima de despedidas o Romeu apareceu á sua porta e tudo se encaixou… como se ela nunca tivesse partido. Porque ambos estavam a estudar, mantiveram um namoro á distância, vendo-se apenas durante  alguns meses do ano. Numa dessas férias, no dia dos namorados o Romeu surpreendeu a sua Jessica mais uma vez á porta da sua casa, desta vez em Miami onde ela vivia na altura. E o resto é história como se costuma dizer… desde aí têm sido inseparáveis e planeiam o casamento para breve aqui em Portugal. Passámos uma bonita tarde com este também bonito casal caminhando pelas ruas de Lisboa, o que por sorte deles e nossa é uma das cidades mais lindas do mundo…
